Pottstown Spring Planting
The Pottstown Tree Tenders will be planting 15 trees in Riverfront Park, 100 College Drive, on April 24 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. in conjunction with Pottstown borough. The trees are replacements for the ash trees that were removed due to Emerald Ash Borer.
Volunteers should be willing to devote at least 3 hours to this effort as that is the time needed to be instructed and plant at least 1 tree. Volunteers will work in groups of 2-3 people per tree.
We are planting these trees along the wooded pathway between the eastern and western parking areas.
Volunteers must be vaccinated against Covid and willing to show proof of vaccination.
Volunteers should be comfortable doing moderate to heavy lifting and digging.
Bring a hat, work gloves that can withstand damp conditions, and wear shoes and clothes that are comfortable to work in. The planting site is a natural area that can get muddy in wet weather.
Light snacks and water/drinks will be available for free to all volunteers.
